I just recently finished watching The Resident on Netflix. One of the lead characters, Dr. Conrad Hawkins, is an internist that is continually called upon for his ability to identify and save patients with his abilities as a diagnostician. His almost encyclopedic knowledge of the human body and disease allows him to deduce problems across a wide range of specialties. And all the while I kept thinking, “if that role existed in IT its one I would really enjoy doing!” I have coined this role Digital Diagnostician.

Drawing parallels with the medical field’s diagnosticians, who are adept at identifying and addressing complex health issues, Digital Diagnosticians specialize in diagnosing and resolving intricate digital problems. This innovative role is becoming increasingly vital as organizations strive to maintain robust, secure, and efficient IT environments.
